MSE Library Annex, Brody Learning Commons, and Irene and Richard Frary Library (D.C.)
Access for Johns Hopkins Affiliates
Affiliates include:
- Enrolled students at any JH school
- JH staff and faculty
JH affiliates must use their J-card (mobile device card or physical card) to pass the locked doors or security turnstiles. If unable to swipe through security turnstiles, a government-issued ID may be used instead.
Non-Affiliate Library Access
A J-card is required for access to the MSE Library Annex and the JHU Bloomberg Center in D.C.
Individuals who are not considered JHU affiliates include:
- Alumni
- Students from other schools who are not enrolled at Johns Hopkins or the Peabody Conservatory
- Contractors
- Parents of enrolled students
- The general public
All non-affiliate visitors must show a government photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or passport) to enter the Brody Learning Commons. Public hours end at 10pm, or when the library closes (if earlier).
