About submission deadlines for electronic theses & dissertations for Johns Hopkins University students
Each JHU school has its own ETD submission deadlines for degree conferral in a particular semester. Deadlines for the Homewood Graduate Board can be found here. For all others, please check the information your school and/or department provide regarding deadlines for your thesis or dissertation.
When planning your submission, keep in mind that the library needs two working days to process your submission. Working days are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and university holidays are not working days. While we are usually faster than that, the waiting time will be longer the closer we are to a submission deadline. You must submit your ETD at least two full working days before your school’s approval deadline in order to provide time for making any formatting corrections to your submission necessary for approval. For example, if your school requires approval of your ETD by 12 PM on a Monday, the deadline to submit your ETD to the library would be 12 PM the previous Thursday.
Before submitting, carefully review the formatting requirements in order to minimize the chances of having to make corrections. Once you have submitted your ETD and paid the fee, check your email regularly in case corrections are required.
